Laws Governing Online Bingo

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act, or UIGEA, of 2006 is a perfect representative of the hypocrisy of the legal system. Paying tax from money earned and a few other laws that are important are stated in the article.

The unacceptable method of its introduction uncovers an unbelievable height of hypocrisy existent in the legal system and paradoxically involves a number of legal persons. This Act is a part of Port Security Act. Even though the Port Security Act was a much needed Act that ensured a greater degree of security of our ports the ways adopted for the introduction of UIGEA were plain abhorrent. The UIGEA was made part of the port security Act with the highest level of secrecy maintained at the last minute before its presentation to the congress and consequently the majority of congress was unaware of it.

One of the lawmakers involved in the introduction of UIGEA is Senator Bill Frist (R-Tenn) whose involvement makes it an apt example of hypocrisy as he is well known for his involvement in several campaign finance scandals. A law violator's involvement in the passing of a new law is something so gross that it just cannot be looked over. Moreover his points favoring the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act were dumb and unreasonable.

Being a conservative Senator, Frist has in a most unreasonable attempt, tried to convince about links of online gambling to terrorism. Terrorism has time and again proved to be a successful card when the administration has tried to implement bills that violated the citizen's rights guaranteed by the US Constitution. But there is yet to be an instance where gambling and terrorism can be associated.

As expected Senator Frist was not available for comment. In a series of arguments given by the senator in favor of the UIGEA he also stated that between traditional land based casinos and online gaming the later is more abhorrent for it is easily assessable to minors. How ever the fact that Software has been revised and updated with the very purpose of keeping minors at bay has made the senators point void.

If online bingo is considered for an example it can be seen that government interference is unjustifiable and uncalled for. Bingo has traditionally been used to make funds and has evolved into a justifiable gambling point.
Moreover, the bingo unlike the traditional physically existent gambling points is can not even be accessed by all. Thus we can conclude that online gambling is a boon rather than a bane and a possible solution to the problem of uncontrolled gambling.

Barney Frank (D-Mass) has devised a different bill that questions the Uniform Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. This bill advises the ways of earning tax revenue from money that is earned out of gambling.

As an alternative, the US Constitution permits its citizens to ask for compensation from the government for injustice inflicted by the government. Lawsuits have been filed which seek a restriction which would ban the UIGEA. The other ways or alternatives which can be used to petition the government are contacting your senator or representative. Apprise them of your thoughts and opinions. You should believe in yourself and your capacity to bring about change.
